The Cæsura Team

Alex Bentley, Editor‑in‑Chief

Alexandria Bentley is a senior at University of California, Riverside, earning her BA in creative writing with a focus in fiction. Since 2019, she has worked with Cæsura, both as a reader and a Poetry Editor. Alexandria is also the current Poetry Editor-in-Chief for Mosaic Art & Literary Journal, a journal based in Riverside. Her work has been featured with the Wingless Dreamer Publisher, in their 2024 edition “Hey there, Delilah”. Her work centers around the reflection of generational grief and navigating the young stages of womanhood. Alexandria is excited for this year’s edition and collaboration!

Seamus Woods, Fiction Editor

Seamus Woods is currently an undergrad at UCR majoring in Creative Writing. He has been writing fiction for close to 11 years now. Seamus completed his first full-length novel when he was 19. His primary topic of interest in stories is exploring the human condition—or in other words, character driven stories. When it comes to the writing itself, Seamus really appreciates a writer who has a focus on rhythmic qualities and a keen eye for sentence variability.

Jae Fields, Poetry Editor

Jae is a poet who prioritizes exploration of both form and content. She has three years of editorial experience, with two of those as Poetry Editor-in-Chief of Mosaic Art & Literary Journal and Marketing Director of Audeamus Multidisciplinary Journal. She began writing poetry in order to illustrate internal phenomena she couldn’t explain otherwise—and knowing a poem’s potential to connect unique people via heart and imagery, spreading new voices and perspectives is her passion. She is eager to continue doing so for Cæsura.
