Cadence McCracken (she/her) is a poet, mother, trail runner, trans woman, and expressive arts therapist living in Oakland, CA. She spent the majority of her career in poetry slam and spoken word spaces, as a performer, organizer, and teaching artist. Cadence has competed in national and international poetry slams, toured a third of the country from open-mics to conferences, and has taught poetry in a prison in Shelton and a University in Charlottesville and everywhere in between. After time away from poetry during grad school and after the birth of her two children were born, she is balancing her craft with a new career as an Expressive Arts Therapist.
