Cory Cofer is a poet with an emcee mentality. He grew up on Langston Hughes and Public Enemy.
A storyteller who blends his distinct voice and deep rooted origins into his sought-after writings and performances. An HBO Def Poet and two-time National Poetry Team member, his debut collection of poetry Dreaming Under Polka-Dot Stars was published in January 2023 by World Stage Press.

A lifelong educator, Cofer earned a Master of Arts in Education. His lived experiences enrich the classroom in ways that can't be quantified. He co-founded and curates A Mic & Dim Lights, one of the nation's longest running open mic poetry readings, based in Southern California. He was recently honored by Diverse Versus LA for his years of dedication and contributions to the Los Angeles Poetry Scene strategies that enhance their work in the community.
